Good to Know
- This tour requires a reasonable level of fitness and is not suitable for persons with limited mobility, heart or breathing issues, wheelchairs, or prams/strollers. The tour includes approximately 1.5km of walking across varied terrain including fairly steep hills, steps, and a beach.
- The wildlife is untrained and unpredictable, and we cannot guarantee that you will see every species. All wildlife is viewed from a safe distance according to NZ Department of Conservation guidelines.
- We travel the coast road and the back roads of the Otago Peninsula, and on our farm tracks at Cape Saunders, with a maximum of 10 guests per group. Our guides are experienced and are confident drivers, and our comfortable vehicles are all 4WD.
- We supply high-quality binoculars and spare wet-weather jackets. Toilet facilities are located at the farm.
- Tours are 4 hours in duration and there are no opportunities to stop for refreshments. Guests are welcome to bring pre-packed food and drink to enjoy.

Meeting Point
Please meet us outside the Dunedin I-Site Visitor Information Centre at 50 The Octagon, Central Dunedin. Please be 10 minutes early and allow plenty of time for parking. Our white Clearwater Wildlife Tours van will arrive to pick you up at the meeting point only a few minutes before the tour start time. There is longer-term parking (4+ hours) available at the Thomas Burns Street Car Park, behind the Dunedin Railway Station, and above the Octagon. Please contact us if you need a pickup from a central Dunedin location or you would like to join our tour from the Otago Peninsula.
